At this time we do not participate in any insurance plans. We keep billing information on file and you will be billed for your appointment at the time of service or in the event you are a “no show.” At the end of each month, you will be provided with an itemized receipt that you may submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.

We have a 48 business hour cancellation policy. If you cannot attend an appointment, please call our offices to cancel and reschedule. If no one is available to speak to, please leave a voicemail message so we can return your call as soon as possible.

That is very difficult to predict. Many factors influence the therapeutic process. Sometimes in therapy clients may feel worse before they start feeling better. Therapy is a process each individual goes through at their own pace.

Depending on the severity of symptoms/issues, usually once per week. As symptoms improve, clients come in on a bi-weekly basis. Over time, it is common for clients who have gone through the therapeutic process to schedule a monthly “check in” session with their therapist.

No. If medication is warranted, we refer to psychiatrist in the Northern Virginia area that we have formed relationships with. The reason for this is that we like to have open lines of communication with our client’s psychiatrist so that we can have an ongoing dialogue in an effort to provide the best treatment possible.

Psychological testing can take anywhere before 3-8 hours and is sometimes administered over the course of multiple appointments. We strive to provide results from testing within a reasonable time period no longer than two weeks. All administration and interpretation is done by a licensed clinical psychologist.

Yes. The Duffy Counseling center is open on the weekends. Appointments are limited to Saturday mornings from 8am-12pm.

In the event of an emergency, we strongly recommend that you go to the nearest emergency room. If you need to speak with us outside of office hours and it is not an emergency, we can be contacted via e-mail but may not read it until the next business day.

Yes. We work closely with several high schools and athletic programs in the area. Outside of that, we have worked with other groups in discussing various topics involving relationships, organizational issues, and other mental health topics.
