Blended Families
A blended family is a family that consists of two parents and their children from current and previous relationships.
Blended families have become more common in the United States as divorce rates have steadily increased. Members of a blended family may encounter stress on two from the dissolution of one family and merging with another. New dynamics are introduced and a “new normal” is strived for by every family member.
Staff at the Duffy Counseling Center have extensive experience in helping children, parents, and families as a whole work through this process and develop effective communication with each other, realistic expectations, and an understanding of how this process affects one another.
