Katharine regularly works with children, adolescents and adults dealing with depression, anxiety, adjustment concerns and women’s issues.

Katharine is a licensed professional counselor (LPC) in the state of Virginia with a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology.

Katharine is a native to the Washington DC area, attending Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart for high school and receiving her Bachelors of Science degree in Psychology with an emphasis in Health Sciences from Marymount University. She has worked with families and children affected by domestic violence and with children who have experienced trauma, sexual abuse, and the diagnosis of selective mutism.

Throughout her career, Katharine has developed a familiarity with children, adolescents and adults in the hospital, residential and outpatient settings.

She has worked in a comprehensive outpatient opiate treatment center practicing individual, group and family therapy for adults with opiate addictions and co-occurring disorders. Most recently, Katharine has focused on adolescent males and females addressing trauma, sexual abuse, anxiety, depression, self-harming behaviors, and behavioral issues. She has nine years of experience working in the acute and long term care of clients facing mental health and behavioral concerns.
Katharine has a broad understanding of women’s issues and many interests which include developmental counseling, guidance, and consulting to facilitate normal growth and development from childhood to adulthood.
Katharine hopes to help her patients feel self-worth and make progress towards healthy and meaningful lives.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Katharine Ryan Rosenbaum and the rest of the Duffy Counseling team have master’s degrees in clinical psychology and are licensed professional counselors in the state of Virginia. We are not licensed clinical psychologists and do not administer or interpret any psychological test at our office. We have a contracted licensed clinical psychologist on staff that does ALL administration and interpretation of psychological testing.
